Understand Thai Soups Better.

To make Tom yum gai, another delicious variation of tom yum soup, you’ll need chicken and a few other tasty spices. Tom yum soup can be made in a variety of ways. Tom yum goong and tom yum nam khon are two examples; the former is made with shrimp, while the latter uses coconut milk to prepare the broth. However, if you believe that simply substituting chicken for shrimp will transform tom yum goong into tom yum gai, you are mistaken! In terms of content and preparation, Tom yum gai differs from other halal thai soups Singapore. You’ll need to go to an Asian grocery store to get some of the ingredients for this soup. Soup made with fresh ingredients has the best flavor, but dried ingredients can be purchased and stored, allowing you to make the soup whenever you want.

Heat the oil over medium heat and sauté the chicken, ginger, lemongrass, and onion in half the quantity. Continue to stir-fry until the chicken turns pink and the onion becomes transparent. Bring the chicken stock and water to a boil, then add the remaining lemongrass and ginger, fish sauce, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and tamarind juice. Bring the mixture back to a boil and allow it to cook for 3 minutes. Now add the chopped garlic flakes, both types of mushrooms, and the chili sauce. Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook the mixture for 7 minutes. Chilies and tomatoes will now be added. After a while, reduce the heat to very low and add green onions and lime juice. You must continue to simmer the mixture for a few minutes more. You can adjust the amount of fish sauce to your liking. Remove from the heat. A generous amount of cilantro leaves should be sprinkled on top before serving, and it should be served hot.

When the chillies are left whole, the soup is mild; when they are chopped, the soup is spicy. If you use dried chillies, reduce the amount to one-third that of fresh ones because they are spicier. Some people enjoy tofu, which can be mixed in with the chicken. These should be cut into cubes and stir-fried at the same time as the chicken.
